Cudders Grinds as a Machinist and a Gamer

Backstory

Keith Shelton (aka Cudders) of the Florida Ravens first starting gaming with older brother on their N64. “Mario Party, GoldenEye 007, Super Mario Kart… we always played those together,” says Shelton, “But I got into RPG games on my own.”

Commitment

To Shelton, Ultimate Endgamers League (UEL) is a second job.

As a machine operator for Jumpstart Manufacturing services, he changed his work schedule to accommodate his game time. “I’ve worked there since I was 19, so I’m going to stay dedicated to this,” but when he played on Maryland Ghost, he was losing out on incentives because of missed practices. “The company understood my need for balance, so they moved me to the 7am-3pm shift,” he says.

Why does he do it? “There’s a lot of money on the line and I want to get better,” Shelton explains, “I highly believe in this, so I hope a lot of other people see this.”

Motivation

While there are challenges to honing your skills in other games, the result is generally a net-positive result. “I went pro in Vegas with Gears of War 4, but it’s fun getting out of your comfort zone and grinding these games that you don’t normally play.”

Shelton adds, “Sometimes I’ll be so locked in on grinding other games and then come back to my original games a bit rusty, but it’s easy enough to get into the groove again.”

M.O.

“I’m somebody that’s gonna grind. I’m always going to make practices. I try my best because I want to be the best.”

He attributes some of his drive to the work that UEL is doing. “Nobody in the world can do what UEL does. You can get the top esports organization… but they cannot beat us in what UEL does.”
